Case Studies
PureNet
When PureNet relocated to the York Business Park, their premises were three times bigger than the office space they were leaving at York Science Park's IT centre - so they needed a lot of new furniture.
Re:Work furnished their boardroom and meeting areas with a boardroom table and 19 chairs, desks, meeting tables, office chairs, a large cabinet and bistro chairs for the cafe area.
"The whole thing was a very positive experience, and we saved about three times the cost by going with Re-Work."
Paul Gibson, chief executive of PureNet in York, said:
"We had a budget that we wanted to stick to. We looked at some of the furniture in Re:Work's showroom in Hunslet, Leeds, and we thought it looked good, and very reasonably priced.
Caroline at Re:Work was very helpful and accommodating. She helped us choose the best furniture for us, held onto it when we had to wait a month before we could move, and the guys who delivered it were great."
Leeds City College
Re:Work is often called on to help Leeds City College fulfil their goal to avoid sending any unwanted furniture to landfill.
For example, last year, they decommissioned their old Keighley Campus - which meant handing it back to the landlord after 100 years' use as a college. They did a great job of giving away, selling and recycling around 400 tonnes of waste, including their old furniture. However, they ended up stuck with around 30 old, grubby canteen tables that no-one could use again - except for Re:Work! We took them away, refurbished them and put them to good use.
"I was employed at the college to help them address and improve their environmental considerations, and I couldn't have done it without Re:Work. They are always on hand and always hugely helpful."
Georgiana Weatherill, the college's Environmental and Sustainability Manager, said:
"I have often had to call on Caroline at the last minute, and she's always stepped up to help. Re-Work have been crucial in helping me clear buildings of all sizes, and they're always efficient, helpful and great to work with.
I also have the peace of mind that comes from knowing whatever they take from us will be dealt with appropriately and won't end up in a landfill."
4Recycling
Re:Work has some kindred spirits at 4Recycling, an innovative recycling company based in Stourton, just a stone's throw from our Hunslet store.
When they needed help furnishing their office, we were very happy to oblige. Then, when they expanded and moved to larger premises, we furnished that, too.
They chose to go with Re-Work because we are a social enterprise, and as a recycling company themselves, we could help them stay true to their principles.
"We have never been disappointed in either the recycled or the new furniture we have bought. Being able to visit the showroom also means you can see what you are buying."
Diane Rogers, from 4 Recycling, said:
"At 4R-Group we like to practise what we preach, so buying recycled furniture was our preferred option. Later, we bought new furniture, also from Re-Work, for the main office of the new premises."
